All initiatives implemented by the Barbancourt Foundation are results-oriented. The funds allocated to each project are used conscientiously to have a positive impact on the intervention areas. Our partners are selected based on their professionalism and their desire to have an impact on our community.
The Barbancourt Foundation is not just a family project; it is a dream for a more just and equitable Haiti, where generosity and altruism are fundamental principles, and where everyone can contribute to creating a fairer and more united future.
Dupre Barbancourt, born in Les Cayes but whose family originated from the Cognac region, was a visionary and passionate about the art of distillation. He established his distillery in Port-au-Prince in 1862, using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. His unique expertise, combined with top-quality local ingredients, created a rum that embodies the very essence of Haiti. Over the decades, the Barbancourt House has evolved while preserving the authenticity of its products.
Today, Delphine Gardere, representing the fifth generation of the family, continues to uphold this legacy by bringing her contemporary vision to it. Her commitment to quality and innovation has elevated Barbancourt to the top ranks of the international scene.
In the 1990s, Thierry Gardere, father of Delphine Gardere, driven by philanthropic values, founded the Barbancourt Foundation, which was relaunched in 2020 by Delphine Gardere to sustain the company’s commitment to families and members of the community.
Philanthropy is not simply about financial resources. It is an attitude, a way of living. It is an act of solidarity that transcends barriers and unites people around a common goal: the well-being of all.
Through the Barbancourt Foundation, Delphine Gardere aims to promote projects that foster education, health, equal opportunities, and culture, believing in a future where everyone has the chance to thrive in an inclusive environment where mutual aid and respect are shared values.
The Barbancourt Foundation is not just a family project; it is a dream for a more just and equitable Haiti, where generosity and altruism are fundamental principles, and where everyone can contribute to creating a fairer and more united future.
Believing in a world where every individual, regardless of their circumstances, can meet their essential needs, overcome their challenges, and realize their potential, the vision of the Foundation is to build supportive communities where every family can find the help and support they need.
The Barbancourt Foundation recognizes the importance of collective action for lasting change. It embraces its role as a catalyst for change by emphasizing transparency, innovation, sustainability, and integrity.
